Description
This memorial drinking fountain, built in 1926 in memory of Hilda M. Birkin, is located on the southeast side of Loughborough Road in West Bridgford. It is constructed from Portland ashlar and features a rectangular plinth made up of two steps that includes a dog bowl. Flanking the fountain are a pair of curved walls with coping that incorporate seats. The base is stepped and supports a rectangular cenotaph topped with a reeded, stepped gable. Above the drinking bowl, which is corbelled in a Classical style, there is an inscribed panel.
