Description

The greenhouse at Ruddington Golf Club is a winter garden built around 1900. It is constructed from cast iron, steel, wood, and glass, featuring a rectangular plan and a single storey. The greenhouse sits on a rectangular rendered base, with a brick wall at the rear that connects to service buildings. The three remaining sides have a lower panelled section, with large plate glass windows above, topped by small square-paned opening windows. The main front has 11 windows, while each side has 6 windows, and the right side includes a doorway. The sides are adorned with two shallow gables, each topped with finials, and the entire roof features a clerestorey also topped with finials.

Inside, there are ornate cast-iron columns at the rear with decorative brackets, and the roof is supported by steel tension bars. The clerestorey and gables have internal pendant finials. Notably, the original steel winding mechanism for opening all the windows is still intact.
