Description
This is an early 19th-century former stable block, later used as workshops and an office, and now a house. It is constructed of render over red brick, with a hipped slate roof. There are two stacks: one rendered ridge stack and one red brick stack to the rear. The building is in an L-shape, comprising a main five-bay section and a lower, three-bay wing attached to a projecting two-storey, single-bay wing. The central bay of the main section has a window opening that now contains a doorway with a partially glazed double door. To the left are two casement windows and to the right a single similar casement, with a further doorway to the far right featuring a partially glazed door and overlight. Above the doorway is another doorway with a plank door, set within a gable. Two glazing bar casement windows are positioned either side, and a single roundel sits in the apex of the roof. All windows and doors have wedge lintels. The projecting wing has a single glazing bar casement window, an arched doorway with a hood mould and decorative label stops, and two large doorways with plank double doors, semi-circular fanlights, hood moulds with decorative label stops and two large doorways with plank double doors, large semi-circular fanlights and hood moulds with decorative label stops. Above is a single glazing bar sash window. The building is included on the register for group value only.
