Description

The memorial drinking fountain, built in 1910 by George Reavel of Alnwick, is constructed from ashlar and iron. It features a central section approximately 8 feet high, which is corniced and flanked by pilasters adorned with carved panels depicting bunches of fruit. At the base, there is a rounded stone projection that supports an iron basin positioned beneath the iron spout. Above the basin is an inscription that reads: "TO THE MEMORY/OF/WILLIAM ASKEW ROBERTSON/OF/PALLINSBURN/JULY 1910." The fountain is complemented by short ramped-down side walls with moulded coping, leading to lower concave quadrant walls that include built-in stone seats on rounded brackets.
