Description

This is a milepost located approximately a quarter mile south of Pallinsburn, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular shape with a steeply-canted top. One face of the milepost is inscribed with "MOR" for Morpeth, while the opposite side displays "COR" for Cornhill. The top of the milepost is marked with "LE" for London and Edinburgh, along with the distance of 328 miles.
