Description

The Battle of Flodden Memorial is a battlefield memorial erected in 1910. It features a tall, tapering Celtic cross made of polished grey Aberdeen granite, which has raised roll-moulded edges. This cross stands on a tapering base constructed from massive, rusticated, and roughly dressed stone. On the north side of the base, there is a bronze plaque with raised sans serif letters that reads: "Battle of Flodden/1513/TO THE BRAVE OF BOTH NATIONS/ ERECTED 1910." The memorial is enclosed within a square fenced area, marked by granite boulder posts at the corners and centers of each side, along with galvanised tubular supports.
