Description
A J Beckett / La Toscana Pizzeria is a pair of houses that have been converted into shops, located in Southwell's Market Place. These buildings date from the early 18th century and have undergone early and late 19th century and mid-20th century alterations. They are constructed of brick with a stucco front, featuring stone dressings and a steeply pitched slate roof. The structure has a partial stone plinth, a low coped parapet, and coped gables, along with two gable and one ridge stacks.
The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range of glazing bar sashes, although the left pair has been replaced by a mid-20th century shop window. Above, there are four low-pitched gabled dormers with 20th-century casements. On the left, there is an altered late 19th century shopfront with a cornice and an off-centre door flanked by single windows. On the right, there is a similar shopfront featuring a central door flanked by single 20th-century glazing bar shop windows.
