Tallents Godfrey And Company And Westgate Salon And Attached Area Railing

Tallents Godfrey and Company and Westgate Salon is a late 18th-century building that now serves as offices and a hairdressing salon, featuring an attached area railing. Constructed of brick with stone dressings, it has a hipped slate roof and coved brick eaves, along with two side wall stacks. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with those on the front displaying multi-keystoned lintels. The building stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range, with a central blank space on the first and second floors. The windows on the second floor are smaller. A central Classical stone doorcase with a cornice and fanlight frames a six-panel door. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing that includes a segment-headed six-panel door with an overlight to the left. The exterior is complemented by a wrought iron spearhead area railing on a stone plinth.
