Description
Burgage Hill Cottage, along with its boundary wall and gatepiers, is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. It has chamfered eaves and includes a single ridge and side wall stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has a three-window range of renewed glazing bar sashes arranged in a 2/1 pattern. Below these windows is an off-centre four-panel door with a rendered surround. To the left of the door are two sashes, and to the right is a single sash, all of which have keystoned lintels. There is also a single-storey lean-to addition on the left side. The right side features a brick boundary wall, approximately 10 meters long, topped with gabled brick coping. At the entrance, there is a pair of square brick gatepiers capped with pyramidal stones.
