Description

Elmfield House is an early 18th-century brick house with stone dressings and a sprocketed hipped roof. It is approximately 120 metres long. The house has a plinth, a band at the second floor level, deep eaves featuring wooden modillions, and two ridge stacks. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with keystoned lintels on the ground and first floors; the second-floor windows are smaller. The main facade has three bays and features a central moulded doorcase with a pediment and overlight, leading to a six-panel door, flanked by single tripartite sashes. The rear elevation is similar to the front, with three sashes on each floor. A 20th-century French window is located on the south end to the left, and a 19th-century canted two-storey bay window to the right. Attached brick garden walls, topped with brick coping, run along the sides. A higher, curved section to the north includes a pair of 20th-century garage doors, a square pier, a section with ramped coping and a panelled door, and a lower section with a rounded corner.
