Description
39 Victoria Street, which also includes No. 4 Prince's Street, is a pair of houses built around 1840. They are constructed of yellow brick with stone and stucco details, topped with a slate roof featuring a single gable, ridge, and side wall stacks. The building has a plinth, bands at the first and second floors, dentillated eaves, and pedimented gables. The windows are primarily glazing bar sashes with multi keystone lintels.
The structure is three storeys high and has a four-window range, with the leftmost window being blank. Above this, there are four smaller windows, with a blank to the left and two sashes to the right, separated by a 20th-century casement. The entrance features an off-centre reeded doorcase with scroll brackets and a flat hood, leading to a beaded six-panel door with an overlight. To the right of the door is a sash window, while to the left is an imitation sash, and further left is a dummy sash.
The Prince's Street front includes a two-storey addition on the left, which has a three-window range of imitation sashes, with the leftmost being a dummy. Above this, there are two 20th-century casements and a half-round window to their left. In the pediment above, there is a dummy half-round window. The entrance below features a central fielded six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by single imitation sashes.
