Description
Nos 35 and 37 Vittoria Street, built between 1840 and 1850, are a pair of three-storey houses with a passage entrance, featuring a symmetrical three-bay front. They were adapted for commercial use in the second half of the 19th century, with shops located at the rear. The buildings are constructed of red brick with stucco dressings and have a low-pitched slate roof with a brick eaves band. The ground floor has altered revealed sash windows, with the right-hand window being wider than the others, while the first-floor windows retain their glazing bars. Each floor has block sills and console brackets supporting thin cornices, topped with blocking courses. The central doorway is framed by engaged Tuscan columns, an entablature, and a blocking course. At the rear, there are two wings for shopping, featuring iron-framed small pane windows and doorways leading into the passage.
