Description
Nos 97 and 99 Vittoria Street are a pair of three-storey houses built between 1840 and 1850, featuring original shop fronts. The symmetrical front is made of red brick and has three bays with a central passage. Each shop front includes four thin mullioned lights, with the fourth light angled into the doorway. The design includes pilaster strips that frame the shop fronts, with console brackets supporting projecting fascias that have dentil cornices. The first-floor windows are adorned with rosette-studded panelled stucco heads, also featuring console brackets and blocking courses above. The second-floor windows have flat rubbed brick arches, and the building has flat boxed eaves beneath a low-pitched slate roof.
