Description
Nos 85, 87, and 87A on Vittoria Street in Hockley are a purpose-built works dating from around 1870. The building is three tall storeys high, constructed of red brick with engineering brick dressings and a plinth. It features reveted stone sills and bands of stone sills on the first and second floors. The front has eight bays and shallow flat eaves beneath a slate roof. The ground and first floor windows are round-headed, with a band of dark blue headers set in arches, while the second floor windows have plain segmental arches. The glazing consists of small pane iron frames. On the ground floor, there is an off-centre two-bay wagon entrance that is also round-arched, with painted stone block imposts. To the left is a narrow round-headed doorway leading to No 87A, and to the right is a lower segmental arched doorway for Nos 85-87. The design remains unaltered and functional.
