Description
18A-18E Millgate is a house that has been converted into flats. It was built in the early 19th century, altered in the mid-19th century, and converted to flats in 1981. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It features a plinth, a first-floor band, plain wooden eaves, coped gables, and two gable stacks. The central bay projects slightly. The building has three storeys and a three-window range of plain sashes, with three smaller plain sashes above. Below, there is a central plain wooden doorcase with a Gothic arched scraper to the left and an open pediment supported by scroll brackets. The entrance has a fielded six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by larger plain sashes. The left gable includes a two-storey lean-to addition and a smaller flat-roofed addition. There is an off-centre doorcase with brick pilasters, a moulded stone hood, and a 20th-century six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by a plain sash and a margin light sash, both with segmental heads. Above and to the left, there is a Yorkshire sash.
