Description
14 and 14A South Green is a house that has been converted into two flats. It dates from the early 19th century and was extended in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with the left gable wall rendered, and features a slate roof with a truncated brick stack at the right end.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a three-window range. The central entrance has a six-panel door with glazed upper panels, set within a doorcase that includes reeded engaged columns with foliate capitals, frieze blocks with oval ornament, and a cornice hood. On either side of the door, there is a six-over-six unhorned sash window, and three similar windows are located on the first floor, all of which are set under gauged skewback arches. The building has a dentil eaves cornice with an oversailing timber fascia board. The left return shows extensions that obscure the ground floor, while the first floor has three two-over-two horned sash windows and one similar window in the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
