Description
This building consists of six houses located at 8-13 Mill Lane in Newark on Trent, dating from the late 18th century and restored in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of brick and feature pantile roofs with five gable stacks. Architectural details include a first-floor band, dentillated eaves, and segment-headed openings on the ground floor. Most doors are beaded with six panels, while the windows are primarily 16-pane sashes.
In the center, there are two flat-headed sashes flanked by single blocked windows. To the right, there are two 8-pane sashes, with a 16-pane sash to the left and a 12-pane sash to the right, both of which are segment-headed. To the left, there is a blank space flanked by larger segment-headed sashes. Below, to the left, are two doors flanked by tall sashes. In the center, there are two sashes flanked by single doors with overlights. To the right, there is a similar door and sash, followed by a passage opening and a blocked door, then another door and two renewed Yorkshire sashes. At the right end, there is a cross gable that forms part of 52-54 Millgate.
