Description
These are a group of four early 19th century houses forming part of a terrace on London Road, Newark on Trent. The houses are constructed of brick with stucco dressings and have slate roofs. They feature first and second floor bands and have two gable and two ridge stacks. The windows are largely original glazing bar sashes with multi-keystoned lintels. The front doors have reeded surrounds with decorative paterae.
The houses are three storeys high and have a five-window range to the main façade. Above this is a further row of five smaller windows. At ground floor level, to the left, are two fielded six-panel doors with overlights and small hoods, flanked by single windows. To the right of these are a fielded six-panel entry door with a blank fanlight, impost detail, and a keystone. Further right stands a sash window flanked by single fielded six-panel doors, the one to the right being partly glazed with an overlight. To the far right is a 20th-century three-light casement window.
