Description
Nos. 20, 22, and 24 Northgate are three houses located in Newark on Trent, dating from the late 18th century and raised in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a pantile roof. They have dentillated eaves, coped gables, and stacks at the gable ends, on the ridge, and on the side and rear walls. The houses are two storeys high and present a five-window range, which includes three Yorkshire sashes and two blank spaces. The ground floor has segment-headed openings and beaded six-panel doors with overlights and scrapers. To the right, there is a blank section flanked by single windows, and beyond that, there are single doors. To the left, a window is flanked on the right by a door. The rear of the houses features a two-storey lean-to addition with two builds, which also has segment-headed openings to the right. The properties are currently vacant and boarded up.
