Description

The Newark Physical Culture Club is a former carriage house and stable that has been converted into a physical culture club. It dates from the early 19th century and was altered in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It has two storeys and a three-window range. The central window is a six-pane fixed light, flanked by two similar lights that are set higher, all of which have segmental heads. Below these windows, there is an off-centre blocked carriage entrance with a close boarded door inserted to the left, and to its left, there is a blocked segment-headed window. This building is part of the outbuildings of 14 Northgate and is included for its group value.
