Description

A row of five late 18th-century houses, restored in the late 20th century, located on Millgate, Newark on Trent. The houses are built of brick and feature pantile roofs, a first-floor band, rebated eaves, a single gable, and two ridge stacks. Doors are topped with segmental heads. The houses are two storeys high with a five-window front. The central window is a 20th-century casement, flanked by single Yorkshire sash windows. To the right is another Yorkshire sash, and to the left, a 20th-century window. On the ground floor, to the left are two close-boarded doors, flanked to the right by a glazing bar sash and to the left by a 20th-century window. In the centre are a glazed door and a beaded six-panel door, each flanked by single glazing bar sashes; the window to the left is a 20th-century imitation. To the right is a beaded six-panel door with a round-headed scraper, flanked to the left by a glazing bar sash. The houses are included on the list for their group value.
