Description

This is a former shop and house, now a private residence, dating to circa 1835 in Newark on Trent. The building is constructed of brick with stucco dressings and has a pantile roof, with a single gable stack. The two-storey building has a two-window front elevation, featuring glazing bar sashes with splayed lintels above moulded stucco panels. Below, a four-panel beaded door is centrally placed, with a reeded surround and a cusped-headed scraper. To the left of the door is a triple glazing bar sash shop window with a cornice. To the right is a round-headed entry with a renewed close-boarded door. The right-hand gable has a 20th-century casement window to the garret.
