EDENHAM MAIN STREET TF 02 SE (west side)

Pair of cottages. Late C17, extended and altered C19 and C20. Originally timber frame, now underbuilt in coursed limestone rubble and partly rendered. Pantile roof with decorative ridge tiles, 2 brick ridge stacks, single ashlar gable stack. Single storey with attics, irregular 6 bay front, with off-centre half glazed C20 door with to left 2 and to right a single 2 light C20 glazing bar casements. Beyond to the right are a pair of semi- circular headed 3 light windows and above, to the roof, are 2 semi-circular headed leaded dormers. At the right hand end a timber bay post on stone base is exposed and the positions of 5 other bay posts can be seen fossilized in the stone walling.
