Description
This primary school, built in 1873, is designed in the Tudor style. It features a limestone ashlar exterior and a Collyweston slate roof, which is laid in diminishing courses. The roof has wooden bargeboards supported by moulded brackets, adorned with shields, and includes two conical lead vents at the ridge. At the rear, there is a single external wall stack with a tall ashlar shaft. The building has a T-plan layout and a chamfered plinth at the left-hand angle, topped with a hipped roof. It is a single-storey structure with a chamfered plinth that includes pierced stone vents. The central entrance consists of a planked door set in a chamfered stone surround, flanked by two-light mullioned windows. The gables feature single tall five-light mullioned and transomed windows. Above the right-hand gable, there is a stone panel that displays the date 1873 and a wreathed "W" for Willoughby, accompanied by a coronet.
