Description
This is a pair of tombs located at the east end of the Church of St. Michael, dedicated to Alberic Drummond Willoughby, who died in 1870, and the Earl of Ancaster, who died in 1910. The tombs are made of ashlar. The southern tomb, for Alberic Drummond Willoughby, features plain side panels with a shield and heraldic devices on the ends. Its gabled top is intricately carved to resemble tegulae. The northern tomb, dedicated to the Earl of Ancaster, has sides adorned with inscribed oval panels, which are flanked by fluted vasiform pilasters. The roundels at each end of this tomb also contain heraldic devices.
