Description
No. 2 High Street is a house and shop dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins on the rear and gable end, while the front is made of red brick with ashlar dressings. It has a slate roof with two brick gable stacks. The structure is two storeys high and has a five-bay front. On the left side, there is a six-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single shop windows that have ashlar bases, plain pilasters, and plain scrolled brackets supporting a cornice. To the right, there is a blocked doorway and a margin light sash window. On the first floor, there are two blocked openings and three margin light sashes. All openings feature splayed ashlar lintels with raised keyblocks. The building is included for its group value only.
