Description

This is a water pump dating from around 1850, made of cast iron. It features a square pump casing with cast iron panels and has a coved top with a fluted knob. On the front, there is an iron spigot and above it is a shield-shaped plaque that bears a griffin. The water supply was enhanced by W. H. Woodhouse of Irnham Hall, who brought it from a spring to standpipes. This pump is included in the listing for its group value only.
