Description
The former brewhouse to Belton House, now a gift shop, was built in 1820 by Jeffry Wyatville and has undergone later 19th and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features gabled and hipped slate roofs. The central block is two stories tall and is flanked by single-story wings, arranged in a 3:5:3 bay configuration. The slightly projecting central block has coped gables with kneelers and ball finials, and it includes five tall round-arched bays with two-light windows on each floor. The wings have modillion eaves and square corner piers topped with ball finials. The left wing features a semicircular blank space flanked by Diocletian windows, with the left window being shuttered, all adorned with keystones and a sill band. The right wing, which has been converted into a coach house, contains three round-arched cart openings with panelled double doors, keystones, and imposts.
