Description

Brewhouse Cottage, located in the yard to the west of The Bury, is a former brewhouse now functioning as a cottage, with an adjacent belfry building. The brewhouse dates from the 18th century, while the belfry is likely from the late 19th century. The structure is built of red brick in Flemish bond and features old red tile roofs.

The brewhouse is a small, single-storey building with a symmetrical south side that has three windows, each with three-centred arched heads and Gothick tracery on the two-light wooden casements. A corbelled eaves course runs across the east gable, which has an entrance beneath a similar arch, featuring a boarded door and a traceried fanlight. To the north, there is a lower outhouse with a slate roof and a tall belfry that swells on all four sides at mid-height. The belfry has an open top stage and a wind-vane, along with a projecting gabled lucarne on the north side of the house.
