Description
The statue of Father Time is located in the forecourt to the east entrance of The Bury, dating from the 18th century. It is a lifesize lead figure of Old Father Time, depicted kneeling on one knee and stooping while holding up a sundial in his left hand. The figure is winged and half-draped, with an hour-glass in his right hand. The sundial itself is made of bronze and is mounted on a wooden board. The statue stands on a rectangular limestone plinth, which is set on a circular limestone base, aligned with the main entrance.
