Description
Two cisterns are located in the Dutch garden north of Belton House. They date from the late 18th century and are made of limestone. The cisterns have a quatrefoil section, simply moulded lips, quadruple stems, and chamfered square bases. They were resited on each side of the main axis during the reconstruction of the Dutch Garden by the 3rd Earl Brownlow of Belton House, around 1870 to 1900. This site is part of Belton Park, which is listed on the Gardens Register at grade I.
