Description
The terrace wall, steps, and urns in the Italian garden north-west of Belton House were built around 1811 by the architect Jeffry Wyatville. They were reconstructed between 1870 and 1900 by the 3rd Earl Brownlow. The structure is made of ashlar and features a low wall with four openings for pathways, each accompanied by steps. On either side of the steps are pairs of chamfered square pedestals that support urns. Between the openings, there are three additional similar pedestals and urns. This feature is one of several estate buildings designed by Wyatville for the first Earl Brownlow, created between 1810 and 1820. The terrace wall and urns are located within Belton Park, which is listed on the Garden Register at grade I.
