Description
The steps on the north terrace of the Italian garden northwest of Belton House were built around 1810 by architect Jeffry Wyatville. They are made of ashlar and consist of three sets of plain steps without balustrades, located in the center of the terrace and at each end. Each set of steps features two pedestals topped with pine cones. These steps are part of several estate buildings designed by Wyatville for the first Earl Brownlow of Belton House, constructed between 1810 and 1820. The steps are situated within Belton Park, which is registered as grade I on the Garden Register.
