Description
The Weigh Office at Bass Maltings is a single-storey building constructed around 1900, designed by A Couchman. It is made of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof with two brick chimney stacks. The building has a deep chamfered blue brick plinth.
The main façade includes two boarded sash windows with stone cills, a pair of plank double doors to the left, another boarded sash window beyond that, and a panel door with a boarded overlight to the right, followed by another pair of double plank doors. In front of the boarded windows, there is a weigh machine for carts.
To the left, there is a small gabled wing that has a round-headed plank door. This building is an important part of the nationally significant Maltings complex.
