TF 0745 MAREHAM LANE 697/2/10023 New Quarrington 24-JUL-01 (East,off) Eastern Cartshed to Storage depot and Stables at Bass Maltings

GV II

Cartshed, now store. c. 1900 with minor C20 alteration. Designed by A. Couchman. Red brick with hipped plain tile roof. Deep, blue brick chamfered plinth. Single storey. Main, west front has three cast-iron columns supporting a timber lintel. Now filled-in with brieze-blocks and various openings. The remaining blind facades are divided by plain piers with recessed panels between. This cartshed was used to house the carts employed to shunt goods around this large industrial site. This building forms an integral part of this nationally important Maltings complex.
