Description
No. 1 Mess Room at Bass Maltings is a single-storey building constructed around 1900, designed by A. Couchman. It is made of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof. The building has a central brick chimney stack that is flanked by lead ventilators and a deep blue brick chamfered plinth. The main front includes four glazing bar sash windows, which are currently boarded up. There are also single doorways and single sashes on each side, both of which are now boarded. This mess room is an important part of the nationally significant maltings complex.
