8 Bass Maltings Cottages

No. 8 Bass Maltings Cottages is a former workers' cottage, now a house, built around 1900 and designed by A. Couchman. The cottage is constructed of red brick with plain tiled roofs and features a single square brick chimney stack. It has a chamfered blue brick plinth, a moulded brick band, and overhanging eaves with timber bargeboards. The building is two stories tall, and all casement windows have 20th-century leaded glazing.

The main front of the cottage includes a two-story projecting wing on the right, which has a two-light cross casement window and, above it, a two-light casement window. On the left side, there is a projecting porch with a hipped roof and a broad two-light cross casement window, along with a doorway on the left return. To the left of the porch, there is another two-light cross casement window. This cottage is an important part of the nationally significant maltings complex.
