Description

A former workers cottage, now a house, dating from circa 1900. Designed by A. Couchman, it is built of red brick with plain tiled roofs and a single square brick stack. The building features a chamfered blue brick plinth, a moulded brick band, and overhanging eaves with timber bargeboards. It is two storeys high. The front elevation has a two-storey projecting wing to the right, incorporating a two-light cross casement window on the ground floor and a two-light casement window above. To the left is a projecting porch with a hipped roof and a broad two-light cross casement. A doorway is located on the left return of the porch. To the left of the porch is a further two-light cross casement window. This building is an integral part of the nationally important Bass Maltings complex.
