Description

A pair of former workers' cottages, now two houses, dating from around 1900. They were designed by A. Couchman for the Bass Brewery. The cottages are constructed of red brick with plain tile roofs, and feature a single brick stack. A chamfered blue brick plinth, a moulded brick band, and overhanging eaves with timber bargeboards are also present. The cottages are two storeys high. The main front has two central gabled wings, each with a cross casement window on each floor. Set back to either side are single part-glazed doors with over-lights. This building is an integral part of the nationally important Bass Maltings complex.
