Description
No. 85 is a cottage located in Clovelly, likely built in the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and has been whitewashed, featuring a slate roof with a gable end. There is a raking dormer on the roof that contains a two-light casement window with leaded lights, and a tall brick chimney stack is positioned to the right.
The cottage has a symmetrical two-storey front with three bays. On the ground floor, there are two-light 12-pane Victorian casement windows set beneath cambered brick arches. The first floor also has similar 12-pane casement windows, but these have square heads. The central entrance features a door opening with a plank door. In front of the cottage, there is a raised rubble forecourt that is topped with slate slabs and pitched stone cobbles. The interior has not been seen.
