Description

No. 78 Rose Street is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features an old tile gabled roof. It has a rectangular plan with a 20th-century extension at the rear. The cottage stands two storeys tall and has a chimney located on the left side, just below the ridge, which has an offset head and clay pots. The eaves are dentilled, and the front is symmetrical with three bays. It has three-light leaded casements set under segmental arched heads. The central entrance door is a flush type with six panels, the top two of which are glazed, and it is framed by a heavy architrave with a flat moulded hood supported by moulded brackets.
