Description
Endon Cottage and Virginia Cottage are two small houses that were originally a town house built in the mid-18th century and altered in the late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and have an old tile gabled roof. They have a rectangular plan with a small extension at the rear of Virginia Cottage (No. 63B). The structure is part two storeys and part two storeys with an attic, featuring a central ridge chimney. The ground floor is rendered up to the cill level, and there is a plat band at the first floor level, along with a moulded and modillioned eaves cornice. The front facade is symmetrical with five bays. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in architrave frames, with the centre and left-hand windows blocked on the first floor. There is a 20th-century, six-panelled entrance door, along with an added six-panelled entrance door on the left side, which is framed by plain pilasters and a dentilled pediment. This entrance also features a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars.
