Description
No. 63 Rose Street is a cottage that dates from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the early 18th century and late 20th century. The building is timber framed, encased in brick at the front, while the rear remains exposed with brick infill. It features an old tile roof and has a rectangular plan consisting of two framed bays, which were formerly jettied at the front facing the road. The cottage stands two storeys high with an attic and has a ridge chimney located on the left side. The exterior includes a black painted plinth and render on the ground floor cill, a plat band, and boxed eaves. The front has two bays with sash windows that have glazing bars and gauged brick arches. The entrance door is located at the rear. Inside, the principal beam on the ground floor has chamfers with plain stopped ends, and there is an inglenook chimney with a moulded four-centred beam, which is partly damaged, over the opening.
