Description
Edginton Cottage and Gena Cottage are two houses located in Turville Village, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with some elements of an older structure incorporated. The buildings have been altered in the 20th century and are constructed of flint with brick dressings, featuring tiled roofs and brick chimneys.
The left two bays consist of one storey and an attic, while the right bay has two storeys and an attic. The windows are 20th-century barred wooden casements. The left bays have segmental heads over the ground floor openings, gabled eaves-line dormers, and board doors on the left and right, with the right door no longer in use and covered with trellis. The left gable has a blocked first-floor window and two small blind two-light windows with brick surrounds in the attic. The taller right bay has all window surrounds rebuilt in the 20th century, a gabled attic dormer, and a 20th-century door in a lean-to to the right. Inside the right bay, there are heavy chamfered ceiling beams and one massive chamfered purlin with wind-bracing. The cottages are included for their group value.
