Description
This is a row of three cottages, known as Little Haven and Wisteria Cottage, dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and refurbishment of the third bay in the 20th century. The two cottages on the left have a timber frame with brick infill to the front and flint and brick to the rear. The front wall of the right-hand bays has been rebuilt in brick. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there are external brick chimneys to the gables, with a central chimney made of narrow brick dating to the 17th century.
The cottages are one storey and attic, with four bays. They feature irregular, barred wooden casement windows, with a very small window in the second bay. Dormer windows with a gabled eaves line are visible at the top. A 20th-century door is located between the left-hand bays, with another to the right of the third bay, featuring a small gabled wooden hood. An old boarded door with a board hood is located to the left of the right-hand bay. A small 20th-century extension is present at the left-hand end, and other extensions are located at the rear.
The interior retains timber framing in the cross walls and parts of the original rear walls. One bay contains stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The left-hand chimney formerly had an oven used for drying chair legs.
