Description
Turfelde is a house that dates back to the 17th century, featuring two original bays that have been altered in the center. To the right, there is a two-bay extension from the late 18th to 19th century, while a 19th-century bay is located to the left, along with further extensions at the rear. The left bay is constructed of brick, while the rest is made of flint and brick, topped with old tile roofs. Brick chimneys are positioned at the gables and to the right of the center, with coved plaster eaves on the three left bays. The house has one storey and an attic, comprising five bays. There are 20th-century paired wooden casements with bars in the left bays and single horizontal glazing bars in the right. Gabled eaves-line dormers are present, and a 20th-century door is set in a gabled timber porch to the left of the center. Inside, the 17th-century bays feature timber framing in the cross walls and rear wall, along with a reused staircase that has 18th-century turned balusters and carved heraldic beast finials.
