Description
Nos 82 and 83 High Street are a pair of cottages located at the corner of a courtyard. They were restored in the late 19th century from an 18th-century house. The exterior is rendered and whitewashed, featuring slate roofs in two sections. The left range, which faces the street, has a gabled roof on the left and a hipped roof on the right, with brick end stacks. The lower attached range is at right angles to the street and has a gabled roof with a brick ridge stack.
The plan is L-shaped with a single room depth. The right portion has two storeys, while the left portion has two storeys with an attic. The windows consist of a 1:2 arrangement, with 19th-century 12-pane two-light casements, including a similar casement in a gabled dormer in the attic. There are two door openings: to the left, a 19th-century plank door with a gabled hood, and to the right, a 19th-century plank door with a lean-to hood. The interior has not been seen.
