Description
Number 2 Mess Room at Bass Maltings is a mess room built around 1900, designed by A. Couchman. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof. A central brick chimney stack is flanked by lead ventilators, and there is a deep blue chamfered brick plinth. The building is single storey. The main front has four glazing bar sash windows, all of which are now boarded. There are single doorways and single sashes, also boarded, on each side of the building. This mess room is an important part of the nationally significant maltings complex.
