Description

Doughty's Cottage is a cottage built in 1797. It is constructed from red brick and coursed limestone rubble, topped with a pantile roof featuring brick coped gables and kneelers. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has a four-panel door and is accompanied by a 20th-century rustic timber porch. On either side of the door, there are single two-light sliding sash windows set under brick segment heads. Above, there are two smaller two-light sliding sash windows beneath wooden lintels. A small plaque above the door is inscribed with 'John Doughty. 1797'.
