Description

Goat Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located on the north side of West Street in Wellingore. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof featuring two brick gable stacks. The cottage is a single storey plus attic and consists of three bays. The central doorway has a half-glazed door and is enclosed by a 20th-century half-glazed porch. On either side of the doorway are single two-light sliding sash windows. Above these, there are two gabled brick dormers, each with two lights. To the west, there is a lower range that includes a single three-light casement window. All openings are adorned with wooden lintels. To the east, there is a 20th-century brick extension that is not of special interest.
